One of the worst things which will make you feel like a complete computer idiot is losing Windows 2000 administrator password. If you’ve just finished the install, remember check for an innocent mistake when you add a password to your account, check again in case the Caps Lock was on without attention. And write down the password for future use.

2. On NTFS system, you can use Recovery console to access and delete the file.But you need to have configured the Recovery Console for automatic administrative logon through the local security policy or inherited domain security policy.

Another way for you is backing up the system. Reinstall windows 2000 and then restore the system. But if you do in the wrong way, you may lost your data.
